Dr Adrian Kaehler is an independent scientist, adviser, and start-up founder specialising in robotics, deep learning, machine learning, statistical modeling and computer vision.
Adrian is currently the founder of the Silicon Valley Deep Learning Group, a community organisation dedicated to the advancement of deep learning techniques and technologies. He was previously the VP of Special Projects at Magic Leap Inc, the augmented reality stealth startup company that raised over $1.4Bn in venture funding in the period from 2014 to 2016.

Ben Moir is the founding member of Snepo Research, where for the last 10 years he has used his diverse knowledge to design systems incorporating new hardware technology and software.

Dong Wu is the head of Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Innovation in the Asia Pacific region. He joined the Innovation team from J&J’s Consumer business, where he was Vice President of Research & Development (R&D), responsible for the global engineering organisation and leading the transformation of the emerging markets R&D groups.
Prior to joining J&J, Dong had an extensive career at Unilever, working in in China, the UK, the U.S. and Japan. He was part of the team that founded the Unilever Regional Innovation Center in Shanghai, where he was acting head of its development laboratory. He was also the manufacturing general manager and site general manager of the Hefei plant, Unilever’s largest manufacturing site worldwide.

Grace Sai is the CEO and Co-Founder of Impact Hub Singapore, the country’s largest coworking community of 650+ entrepreneurs, creatives, and techies. More recently, she took the helm of the Hub Ventures Fund, a seed fund to invest in early stage tech companies.

Dr Juan Carlos López

Dr. Juan Carlos López is the founder of Haystack Science, a firm focused on connecting up-and-coming scientists working in novel research areas with knowledgeable investors interested in developing valuable advances in biomedicine.
Prior to Haystack Science, Juan Carlos was the Chief Editor of Nature Reviews Neuroscience and the prestigious journal Nature Medicine. In 2014, he joined Hoffmann-La Roche as its Global Head of Academic Relations and Collaborations. He has also served on the boards of multiple biotechnology and non-profit organizations, most recently on the Board of Directors of Keystone Symposia.
Juan Carlos obtained his B.S. degree at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, majoring in neuroscience. He then received his Ph.D. degree from Columbia University, New York, working in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Eric Kandel, and carried out postdoctoral research at the Instituto Cajal, Madrid.

As the head of Johnson & Johnson Innovation, JLABS (JLABS), Melinda Richter fosters the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies’ external R&D engine and supports the innovation community by creating capital-efficient commercialisation models that give early stage companies a big company advantage.
Prior to joining JLABS, she was the Founder and CEO of Prescience International, an award-winning firm dedicated to accelerating research to the patient. Melinda founded Prescience with the tenacity and resolve of a patient looking for a better solution, after she had a medical emergency that left her questioning the efficiency and efficacy of the healthcare system.
Prior to starting Prescience, Melinda held global posts across a variety of functional areas with Nortel Networks. She also initiated, raised capital and secured large corporate deals for several companies in both the life science and technology space.

Michael Descheneaux is the president of Silicon Valley Bank, and oversees the global commercial bank, private bank, credit administration and business analytics, as well as SVB Financial Group’s venture capital investment arm, SVB Capital. He is also a member of the executive committee of the company, and serves on the board of directors for the company’s joint venture bank in China.
Prior to joining SVB, Michael was a managing director with Navigant Consulting and head of Arthur Andersen’s Financial Services Practice for the Central and Eastern Europe region, advising large, public and multi-national clients. He was lead audit partner with Andersen’s Telecommunications and High Tech Practice in that region, and technical expert partner on U.S. GAAP and GAAS matters.

Philip Lim is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Exploit Technologies (ETPL), the strategic marketing and commercialisation arm of A*STAR which enhances the research output of its scientists by translating their inventions into marketable products or processes. Philip has been instrumental in introducing several innovation and productisation initiatives such as the Diagnostics Development Hub and the A*START Central Incubation. He also sits on the boards of IP Academy and CommonTown Pte Ltd.
Prior to ETPL, Philip spent 20 years with the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF). In his last appointment as Brigadier General and Head of Joint Logistics, he was the leading senior specialist on logistics and engineering matters to the Chief of Defence Force. In recognition of his significant contributions to the SAF, he was awarded the Commendation Medal (Military) in 1995 and the Public Administration Medal, Silver (Military) in 2004.
Poon Hong Yuen
Chief Executive, SPRING Singapore
Poon Hong Yuen is the Chief Executive of SPRING Singapore, an agency under the Ministry of Trade of Industry which is responsible for helping Singapore enterprises grow.
Prior to SPRING, Hong Yuen was the deputy secretary for the Ministry of Law, where he led inter-agency engagement efforts for family justice and the community disputes resolution tribunals. He was also the CEO of the National Parks Board from August 2010 to February 2014, and set in motion major initiatives such as Destination Parks and the Round Island Route.

Robert Scoble is a Silicon Valley-based author, futurist, blogger and entrepreneur. He is a geek who grew up in the Valley (his father was an engineer at Lockheed) and has been building online communities since 1985. In 2003-2006, Robert worked at Microsoft as an evangelist and was one of the five guys who started Microsoft’s famous Channel9 video community. He is also the co-author of ‘The Fourth Transformation: Augmented Reality & Artificial Intelligence’.

Prof Salvatore Albani
President, Eureka Institute of Translational Medicine
Professor Salvatore Albani is currently a Professor with Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore. He is also the Director of the SingHealth Translational Immunology and Inflammation Centre, and a Senior Clinical Scientist at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He also co-founded and serves as the President of the non-profit Eureka Institute for Translational Medicine.
Prof Albani’s fundamental research interest lies in understanding human immunity and translating that knowledge for therapeutic and diagnostic advancements. He has developed several innovative approaches, during which he was responsible for the whole translational process from idea to conclusion of Phase II clinical trial.
This translational research itinerary has been the original backbone of Prof Albani’s career, as witnessed by numerous publications, some 100 patents and several awards, including a Nature Biotechnology award for career achievement and the Singapore Translational Research (STaR) Investigator Award from the NMRC Singapore.

Sami Kizilbash oversees Google’s Developer Relations activities in South & South East Asia, nurturing tech ecosystems and leaders across the region. As the global point of contact for Google’s VR/AR developer ecosystem programmes, Sami also works closely with community leaders and experts to improve awareness of VR/AR design best practices, and Google’s Daydream and Tango platforms.

Steve Leonard is a technology-industry leader who has played key roles in building several global companies in areas such as Software, Hardware and Services. He is currently the Founding Chief Executive Officer of SGInnovate – a private limited company set up by the Singapore Government to build ‘deep-tech’ companies. Steve and his team work with local and international partners, including universities, venture capitalists, and major corporations to help technical founders imagine, start and scale globally-relevant early stage technology companies from Singapore.
Prior to this role, Steve served three years as the Executive Deputy Chairman of the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), where he had executive responsibility for various aspects of the information technology and telecommunications industries in Singapore.
